What a start to the 2012 season for Tjaart!
Thursday's round was a solid start with a round of -4, which included two eagles, that placed him in the middle of the pack for Friday's round. Tjaart got off to a hot start with 4 birdies but unfortunately 2 bogeys got in the way, but experience kicked in and Tjaart steadied himself and kicked it in with a birdie - hole-in-one - eagle to vault up the leaderboard to -12 hunting down the leader. As to be expected adrenalin was pumping in the van der Walt 'camp' and at this stage in the round it was critical that Tjaart kept calm in order to finish strong, and that is exactly what he did and finished off his round with 5 pars and a birdie on his 18th hole to record a -9 for the round.
At T2 for the tournament going into the weekend Tjaart just needs to carry on the way he started and who knows what could happen!
