Two rounds in the sixties at the weekend secured Tjaart a top 10 finish at the Fedex St Jude Classic. On Saturday, Tjaart produced a solid bogey free round of 67 and followed it up on Sunday with a round of 69 that saw only one bogey.
By finishing in the top 10, Tjaart has secured himself automatic exemption into the Barclays Classic to be played next week in Rye, New York. It is a tournament he would otherwise not have been exempt for due to his conditional status on the US PGA Tour this year.
The prize money he earned for this top 10 finish moved him 48 spots on the money list from 210 to 162 and this will certainly be a good kickstart for the summer leg of the tour when Tjaart will get more opportunity to play due to the larger size tournament fields.
Tjaart has opted to take this week off rather than play the Nationwide Tour in Raleigh. He will spend the week preparing for the Sectional Qualifier of the US Open to be played next Monday, 5 June in Houston.
