Despite Tjaart playing a brave 18 holes in the final round of Second Stage of Qualifying School, with 5 bogeys and 1 birdie, he came up short of securing a spot at Final Stage of Tour School.
While disappointed, Tjaart is looking forward to being on the Nationwide Tour in 2007. But before that, Tjaart will be consulting with a specialist to have his wrist attended to. Tjaart has played with an injured wrist for a good part of 2006 and while he has attempted to play through the pain, the need to have the wrist seen to by a specialist, with the possibility of surgery, is critical for Tjaart at this stage. Tjaart will fly to Omaha, Nebraska on Tuesday/Wednesday to consult with a wrist specialist.
